About

At first, it was just a kid with a camera. Paul Goodyear was a 4 year old kid asking his dad to play with the family camera. Ever since then he fell in love with filmmaking. With no one in his family being a filmmaker he had to learn from the internet and from films themselves. After making a few short films for fun, at the age of 15, Paul was asked to make a training video for a local business. Two years later in 2012 RedFox Media, LLC was founded in Louisville, KY.

Everything has a turning point.

Continuing to build RedFox, Paul, while still attending, college built a team of friends to help him take the company to the next level. Instead of using PVC pipe and Home Depot lights the team was now using ARRI lights, C-Stands, and professional cinema cameras. This let RedFox grow to the next level to be able to produce content on the highest level. After making hundreds of videos for businesses and churches, Paul felt like something was missing from these videos. So, taking a page from Hollywood's playbook, Paul transitioned RedFox to be a film production company. Renaming the company to RedFox Pictures in 2017. This transition from treating each project as a "video" to treating it like a "film" has been a game changer. The newfound focus on screenwriting and cinematic storytelling became RedFox's calling card. Client's projects had more impact and resonated more with the target audience.

Why RedFox?

Foxes have been extremely popular in folklore for millennia in every culture. In Western mythology the fox was a creature used to symbolize trickery. In Eastern mythology the fox was a wise creature that is discerning. While it might sound strange, both of these characteristics are good at describing our process here. We do our best to hide the process of our filmmaking. We want our process to result in a seamless product. And on the other hand we try to use wisdom and discernment to determine what to film and how we do it. Because of man's rich history with red fox mythology, it only seems appropriate that we continue that tradition here at RedFox Pictures.

The future looks red...

RedFox, having found a solid base in the video production business still has a passion for making films for clients. But, Paul wants to continue to pursue his calling in the feature film market. Therefore RedFox is going to continue to expand and pursue options in the indie film market along with its current offerings of high end corporate video production.
